Subject: cheaper R/T rims IP: Logged
Message: what's the deal with the R/T rims? I heard someone say that you could get them from Dodge for like $140-160 a peice. And that they were the same as the ones that came on the R/T. I called two Dodge places around my town today and asked them and they laughed and gave me some crap like "Chrysler doesn't make a aluminum rim that cheap" or some crap like that. They quoted $520 a peice.
what's the deal?
thanks guys!

Message: Best bet is a salvage yard. Ford cobra wheels go for 120 chrome. RT's can't be to much more.

Message: 17"x9" rims are gonna be really expensive cuz thats a big size. I dunno about $520 a piece but don't be surprised if its in the $400 a piece range.

Message: Ask the dealer to look in the mopar accessories catalogue. It is half the price of the ones out of the parts book same wheel. My dealership sells them for about $200 Canadian.

Message: I went straight to the parts department of the dealership and asked for the wheels as "accessories". 160 was the price quoted to me. You have to say accessory though.

Message: If you are lucky like me I have family that own an automotive repair shop and get parts at discount, 25% off retail to be exact or $40 less per wheel:) $120 for an R/T wheel, now that's a deal but you still have to but the rubber!
