Message: Hey is a 180 degree Tstat from Napa (made by Stant) its called a Superstat...is it as good as the Robert Shaw? Cuz Auto Zone didn't have a Robert Shaw for the 2001 model R/T yet so I got that one. On the side of the box it says faster engine warm up but I want to keep it as cool as long as I can not warm it up faster. I know Napa has great parts but is it what I'm looking for?
Thanks,
~Mike~

Message: I bought a Robert Shaw for my 2001 thru speedtweaks.net. The T-stat opens faster and at a lower temp so you are running cooler. Try another part store.

Message: Well that might have to be my route to go cuz Autozone don't have a Tstat for the 2001 model 5.9's. Oh and a bunch of the dudes I've been calling at these places have been saying it won't run any cooler than the stock Tstat.

Message: I installed a NAPA 180 thermo in my 2001 5.9. It works great and cost about $5.00. The tech at Jet Chips recommended it.
NAPA has good parts!

Message: NAPA has good stuff - no arguement from me there. Robertshaw GT 755-180 or Robertshaw 755-180 extra performance will fit your 5.9. It opens at a lower temp. than the rest and has less fluxuation (probably spelled wrong) than most others. I have a Federal in my truck and it comes up to temp. without going over and does not cycle, according to the guage.

Message: MikeE
I don't know WTF its called. I can't find my receipt to give you the part number.
It looked like a factory replacement part. It didn't have extra bracing like some of the "high performance" thermos.
It does keep the engine cooler according to the idiot gauge. I do not know what the "fluxation factor" of it is.
