Message: Anybody have any problems with their brakes, after parking it wet?
If I drive in the rain, and park the truck somewhere covered, and come back and drive it again in a couple of hours, the first time I touch the brakes it locks up.
It may lock up once or twice, the right rear tire I think.
It goes away quite quickly after this.
Any clues???

Message: I have a 94 Dakota Sport, V6, 5 speed.
I've owned since about 98 and my brakes have ALWAYS gotten wet. Usually takes about 3 stops to dry them out and they're fine after that.
Sorry, don't know the reason either..just wanted you to know you weren't alone.
ps....I have no problem with peeling paint like I've seen in the other posts.

Message: I think it's a truck thing... mine does it too. My friend's old S-10 used to do it as well. Freakin' sucks when you're leaving a parking lot and it does it. It always looks like I was about to rear-end someone and locked my brakes up at the last second. lol

Message: It is not just trucks... When disc brakes get wet they tend to lock up until you dry them off. Not a big thing... At least they are working, and if you know they are gonna do it, then when you are moving ride the brake just a little to dry them off.

Message: happens all the time to me, just do like dan said and ride the brakes for a bit to dry them off. before i did that, i'd almost send myself through the windshield cause the fronts would lock up. Never had the problem with any other car i owned.

Message: My brakes are kind of funky also. It is not a wet or dry problem, I think it has to do with disks in the front and drums in the back. I just kind of brake a little sudden and it will grab and slip. I am used to it, but when my freind borrowed the truck it sort of scared him a bit. Not the same problem as yours but kind of similar.
