Subject: Deep Dish Rims IP: Logged
Message: I recently bought a new 2001 R/T and was wanting to put on some deep dish rims but I noticed that if I put those on it that the wheels would be sticking way out past the fender. The hub on the rear comes right to the edge of the rim. Is there no way of keeping the wheels from sticking out but putting on some deep rims?

Message: nope the wheel hubs are placed way out on the dakotas for better handling, so if you want aftermarket rims, you have to have a high positive offset, which has a verry small lip on the rim.

Message: You can ge some rims that have a deep for the Dakota/Durango if the spokes taper back towards the rear of the rim. Go to the http://www.tirerack.com/ and look at the OZ Nova Sport Truck and Moda R7. http://www.tires.com/ Enkei RT6, RTS. Axis also has several with a deep lip Vortex, Vector

Message: I have Boyd Coddingtons that are 10 inches wide. They do stick out a bit, but not excessively. If I decided to go with fender flares I think they would look fine.
