Subject: Heavy Duty Cooling? IP: Logged
Message: I have the heavy-duty cooling option on my 2001 Quad Cab. I have noticed the electric fan behind the radiator runs anytime the blower switch on the climate controls is set to a position other than off. I would think that the electric fan behind the radiator would only run when using the air conditioning or be thermostatically controlled by coolant temperature, not when running the heater in the winter. Anyone else notice this same kind of operation?

Message: It does run when the compressor is turning. They let the compressor run when the heat is on to dry out the air to prevent condensation on the cold windows.

Message: I ran through all the settings for the heater blower and it only engages when in defrost and floor or defrost only.
Thanks... I never thought of that!
