Subject: Squeky Clutch IP: Logged
Message: My clutch pedal squeks, when I press on it. I doubt anything is wrong, its just an annoying squeak. And its starting to bug me when I use it. Any ideas on how to get rid of te squeak? It is located right above te visible part.

Message: Mine's doing the same thing. About a year ago it squeked while still under warrenty and they replaced the whole hyd assy.( master cyl, slave cyl and line). Now I'm out of warrenty and its doing it again. Seems like a dab of grease in the right spot should fix it but I hav'nt been successful yet.

Message: I wonder if WD-40 is the solution to this problem, solves many others.

Message: My clutch pedal squeaked a little and a well directed shot of white lithium grease worked. WD-40 is probably a little thin to last long.

Message: I just tried again to fix it. Put white grease all over the rod and it made no difference. I still think its the rod and not the pivit shaft but I could be wrong.

Message: Weird thing is it only squeaks, after driving around for a few minutes, not in the morning, or after a long rest. Almost as if something inside warms up and then sqeuaks. As I am to lazy to take apart every aspect of the clutch to find a part that could do this, I will just turn the radio up.

Message: mines a 2000. but i just went and looked at it and you're right. sorry, its more like a clip. i put the grease on the joint that should be above the pedal(under the dash). thats what was making the noise on mine.

Message: I may have found it! The hood release cable was against the top of the push rod. When I moved it the noise stopped. Don't know why I did'nt see that before.

Message:
Yup...good old WD-40 takes care of that. Mine squeaks on occasion. I just spray a little bit on the pivot points (by the pedal) and it goes away. Don't feel bad about it though, my '69 Javelin also squeaks on the clutch pedal.
