Subject: Oil filter size IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2007 dodge Dakota 4.7 4wd. A few months ago I took the
truck to a Valvoline oil change place. Just this week I did the oil
change myself and noticed the oil filter Valvoline put on is very
small. It is a VO25 and looks to the size of the ones on a lawn
tractor. Whiles it fits, it leaves about 3/8 inch around the flange. It
is nowhere close to the one I got at Napa.
I went to Valvoline and they said it was prescribed by their system
and it is smaller because their oil filters work better.
Any thoughts, what should I do?
