Subject: FSM torque specs !!
IP: Logged

Message:
Be careful with the FSM torque specs. Was
rebuilding my rear end..FSM said carrier bearing
cap torque is 100 ft/lbs. When I first torqued them
started getting real tight at 60 ft/lbs. Stopped
and checked the internet. Engineering data for
different bolt strengths lists DRY and lubricated
torques. 100 ft/lns is DRY torque. Same with diff
cover..35 ft/lbs is DRY and way too much. Stopped
at 25 ft/lbs.
