 Subject: 87 Dakota Manual Transmission

hello, I am having a hell of a time trying
to identify what transmission is in the 87
Dodge Dakota 2.2 5-speed we inherited from
my grandfather. The reverse gear is out on
it and I'm trying to source parts or
another trans to swap but finding no info
on the 87. Anyone have a clue?

Hey montecarloz31 go to Amazon and import your
truck info in and then go straight to Rio
transmission section to fully fill out the info.

The Chrysler Shop manual for the 87 Dakota lists the 5 speed manual transmission as:
NP2500 Overdrive 5-Speed
A good place to go for junkyard parts, which may be the only place you will find an NP2500, is car-parts.com and you will probably have to buy the whole transmission. Good luck!
