 Subject: 2000 Dakota Cranks no start

I have a 2000 Dakota that I just put a replacement passenger
fender on. I have not completely attached parts to fender or
replaced the air filter. I reattached the battery terminal and
tried to start it. Cranks but won't start. I am NOT a mechanic. I
also noticed the odometer showed "no bus". This truck ran
beautifully before the fender replacement. I was not the driver,
so have no idea if that error code was there prior. Please help.
Could I have damaged something, or not grounded something
that would cause this problem?
