 Subject: repeating thud noise while driving

On my way to work this morning my truck started
making a really loud noise while driving. Think
about a baseball card in a bicycle spoke type
of repetitiveness. But, this noise is a lot
more solid and only makes the noise while my
foot is on the gas. I tested it in reverse and
the same noise. Additionally, there is a small
vibration at 35-40 MPH.
I'm thinking it's my CV but I'm not positive
and hoping someone can help me identify this
issue.
2001 Dodge Dakota. 4.7L AWD.
