Message: hi to all,
considering trading in my 2000 eclipse for a 2002 dakota r/t. i intend to get it fully loaded and modify it over time with new intake, TB, headers, exhaust, chip, plus exterior mods. is there anything that is generally not recommended to order with the truck. like the heavy duty service group, is that a good thing to have? what does the engine cooling option include? the salemen at the dealership couldnt really tell me.
my wife has a 2001 durango r/t and i love her truck so i thought a dakota would look good sitting next to it. thanks for all forthcoming information.

Message: I strongly urge you to get reports on recalls first, then go for anything to help cooling. If you are going to modify, you will take off and discard old things so think ahead. It's no use paying for a upgrade in suspension if you are going to replace it later etc.. Good luck i love my dak

Message: thanks snowman,
after searching through these posts for a few hours, i still have some questions. first of all, why is it that the 5.9L engines are only producing 250 HP, i realize there is alot of torque to go with that, but when i think of a motor that size, i would think there would be more HP with it.
question number two: how are the internals of the engines holding up after having bolt performance kits installed? would i have to do serious modifications to install a supercharger?
thanks for the help, guys. oh and what seems to be the most popular color on the r/t's?

Message: I have a 2002 R/T and i love it. The reason why the 360 is only making 250hp is beacause of emmions. But there are whys to impove you hp greatly with just a few bolt on idems. The 360 has the power but you just got to get the right mods to get the power. Also the 360 has been around for over 30years so reaibalty is pretty much proven on this engine.
