I have a basic 2000 Dakota Sport V6. I have recently added a LEER matching Canopy. But upon attaching center mount brake light I find it flashes with the LEFT brake/signal/stop lamp I was advised to attach it to.

Now that I have added a locking Leer Canopy, It is Dumb to have a locking Canopy door if unable to lock tailgate. Locking tailgate latch for the 2000 Dakota Sport are hard to find. Yet I have seen other Dakotas trucks of the same era, with locking tailgates.
Also he door T-latches for the canopy were also really hard to find at a decent price. Canopy shops wanted $65/each. I discovered that Chromed Garage door T-latches sold at Home Depot are the same manufacturer for $16/each with(2)keys. So I went back to the Canopy supplier and just asked for the truck locking arm attachment $5.99/each

I recently removed my matching Leer Canopy off my 2000 Dakota Sport,to re-install my Dodge Bed liner. Now I want to put Canopy back on but I need access for the Leer Clamps on the box, without doing damage to Liner. Anyone have this problem.
