Subject: Engine Electrical IP: Logged
Message: I recently replacedthe clutch in my 95 2.5 liter
Dakota. I had the motor running for about five
minutes when it just stopped. I found out that it
had no spark and traced it down to a
pinched/broken orange wire that had fallen between
the bell housing and back of the engine block.I
repaired the wire with a crimp connector and re-
taped the splice. I also replaced the two prong
connector on the coil because of a broken wire.
Now I still have no spark, the TBI injector shoots
a stream of fuel into the throttle body, and the
ASD relay is chattering when the key is on.I had
previously connected a remote starter switch to
the starter solenoid to turn the motor over when I
was trying to diagnose the original problem. Any
help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
