 Subject: idle issues

2002 4.7 wont idle or keep running. Have to keep a foot on the gas to maintain enough rpm so it wont die. The engine has no stumble or miss when the rpms are over 800. runs fine until I come to a complete stop. Mileage hasn't been affected either. Disconnect the battery and reconnect its fine for 2-3 weeks then it happens again. Anyone have this problem ?

On my `95 it turned out to be the EGR valve. Was especially noticable when in reverse. It would die when you let off the gas.

That's odd that when you disconnect the problem starts again. I'm assuming that would be electrically related then..
