Everyone,
Ok just replaced my altenator and battery this past week. Last week my Gauges started going nuts all pointing to their respective sides. The check gauges light and the airbag light with a bell sound would then come on. The truck idled rough and would stall on occassion. Checked altenator and battery, scary was sending about 20 to the battery(Replaced altenator and battery). Needless to say after replacement all seemed ok, until this morning. Truck didn't start on first try but did on second and all gauges again pointed to their repspective sides (maxed or minimum depending on left or right gauges). I gave it a little gas via pedal to ensure it started second time and it ran a little rough plus the check gauges light and airbag light came back on. Drove it maybe 1/4 mile let it idle until it stalled (not in gear)then restarted all was fine. Drove the rest of way to work about 20 minutes and only once did check gauges light come on for about a second but gauges read fine during that time. So question could the alternator regulator when it failed maybe caused my ECM\PCM to crap out or maybe fry something? I'm planning on going to AutoZone tonight to have them hook it to tester to look for codes...Sorry for the long post but wanted to provide as much info as I can think of right now.
Any thoughts appreciated

I'm thinking the voltage regulator is built into the PCM.

Thanks for the reply, I thought the alternator had it on it. Either way I went to the AutoZone store and no surprise without the engine light on there are no codes they could pull. So I'm thinking of getting a replacement PCM. I'll post back after that. Keeping my fingers crossed I want to keep the truck going through winter. I'm the only owner it's had and it's been great.
