Subject: Radio ground IP: Logged
Message: I had an aftermarket radio in my 2001 dakota, but last year it
started turning on and off on its own. I thought the radio was
going, so I put the factory radio back in. A year later the factory
radio started doing the same thing. I thought it was the ignition
hot, but it also loses constant hot. It must be a ground but I
can't identify where the ground would be. Any ideas?

Message: The radio has 2 grounds, one should be in the little plug in, the other (on some radios) the antenna acts as a ground as well if you have an antenna that is mounted on the fender then be sure its tight. the other ground would be easy enough to run a new ground from the radio housing to a good ground.
Good luck
