Subject: Thinking of buying a '94 IP: Logged
Message: Hi all,
I'm thinking of buying a 1994 Dakota SLT 4x4 with
the 5.2 V8 and stumbled upon this site. Looks like
a great resource. The truck has 88k and the seller
is asking $5300 for it. I haven't taken a look at
it yet but it's a single owner vehicle and this
thing looks pristine. Not a spot of rust so far as
I can tell.
I'm wondering if what he's asking for it is fair
and if anyone can speak to reliability. I just
bought a house and need to start thinking about
hailing some things, hence the truck. It will
likely become my daily commuter to my job (10
miles/day) some occasional hauling and hunting/ice
fishing.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to your
responses.

Message: That's way too much money for a 20 year old truck. I
wouldn't pay more than 3000 because your gonna end
up paying a thousand bucks in repairs. Don't be fooled
by private sellers

Message: Based on my experince. Stay away from any 94 or gen 2 dakota unless you want to spend lots of money. Of course it might depend on previous owner but that facts still remain the same. They were built with cheep parts.
