I had a 1992 Dakota (reg cab/3.9/5sp) for 16 years and 120K miles, loved it. Like the idiot that I am I sold it when the kids wouldn't fit in it anymore.
FFWD five years and I'm in the market for a decent working truck. I've driven two ~2000 Dakotas with the same driveline and to my mind they didn't shift nearly as nice as my '92...or my memory is faulty. The newer trucks were clunky while I remember mine to be smooth and carlike,
Anybody have some recent experience in both?
