 Subject: Squeak from front tire

My 2004 Dakota has an annoying squeaking noise from the driver's side front tire. The noise can be heard inside the passenger cabin when driving. The noise can be caused by standing alongside the driver's side front fender and pushing down on the body. A mechanic told me it was a loose center cap on the tire. It seems to be related to the suspension. Regardless, it's like Chinese water torture. Any suggestions on the cause and fix?

The best fix wouldbe to take it to the Chevy dealer & trade it four a real truck.
