Subject: trouble towing IP: Logged
Message: so i have a dak 4x4 5.2. i was wondering if i can tow more than 10000 pounds. currently i have a cat back and cold air intake. it has 33 inch tires. truck only has about 67,000 miles. id be using a fifth wheels and im towing a 23 foot camper trailer. ive never towed with it before so if you guys think i really should not please let me know asap! thanks much for the help.

Message: Not that the truck couldn't pull the weight but, i would definitely try it. Too much weight for a mid size half ton. I'd be more worried about stopping.

Message: hmm. ok then darn. well id have no other vehicle to tow with. its fine tho. what do you think is the max weight i can tow with? i think i have some where aroud 210-250 and 300 foot pounds. probably like 5000 lbs?

Could be but type of trans and gear ratios make a difference in the tow rating. Get that info and there are websites that can give you a GVWR for towing.
