WOW. What the hell is with this guy? This is the same jackass that goes by the names of eggnoodlehead, bonghead, and bongboy, to name a few. First he started telling everybody to shake the f*ck out of their baby (along with many other nonsensical things), then he went on to post this and other outlandishly stupid questions just to waste everybody's time.

I'm guessing this is some S-10 owner that is tired of getting his ass handed to him by a dakota in any sort of competition that he can come up with. So, since his neanderthal brain can't think of any way to get back at people who own real trucks, he puts his lack of talent to use and posts such silly things as this.

Crap like this has made alot of people who know alot and could help alot of people leave and go elsewhere. It is sad the depths this site has sunk. There are still a couple of you good ones out there, but how long until you guys get sick of it and leave, as well? Someone made the comment on a post that no one is at the controls, and I would have to agree. Sometimes I even think that these and similar posts are from the site creator himself, who knows.

Hey s10deahgnob maybe i could help you. this is from some s10 forum, hope it helps :
In my opinion, the only way a 4.3L can be a sleeper is if it's built for nitrous. Even then, a built 4.3L can probably only withstand a 150 shot before the transmission starts giving you grief. You're going to spend a good chunk on 6 forged pistons when 8 cheap pistons will yield the same over-all power, but more torque and the same or better MPG. A turbocharged or blown 4.3L will whistle - which is noticeable to anyone who's into cars.
350's are cheap, plentiful and parts are everywhere. You can't go wrong with that motor in terms of simplicity vs cost effectiveness and power. A 350 built on the cheap might cost you a grand with new parts after labor to machine and recondition old parts. To do the swap right I'd want a slightly built up 700r4 from a 2wd, air conditioning, proper cooling, power steering and brakes and an engine that starts every day regardless if it's -30*F or 110*F. The extra weight up front means stiffer shocks and maybe a set of coil spacers to bring the front end height back up. It would have to run on any type of gasoline and idle smooth. Big "sleeper" power can come from a well tuned carb and a nitrous plate with a 100-150 shot, used once in awhile on the street but mostly at the track.

Realistically, you might be into the whole conversion for around $3500 and a month's worth of time, working on it 10 hours/week. You'd probably see 16-17mpg with a 2wd Blazer, given it's a 700r4 and 3.42's/3.73's with a small-ish tire. You'd have 260-270hp and 320-340lb-ft of torque off the bottle, on tap whenever you put your foot down. On the bottle would depend on your jets, but to keep costs down I'd start with a 75 shot and work up to a 150 at the track.


I'm partial to V8's because I know what they'll do between an S10's frame. Most don't even know a 5.7L sits behind my Sonoma's grille until I tell them because it's so quiet.
