Does anyone know what CD Player will fit into a 1997 Dakota SLT Ext. Cab. I'm looking to put in a stock Chysler/Dodge CD Player. I've seen several for sale on E-bay but I'm not sure if they will fit. Are most of the CD Players universal for the given year??

The stock D.C. CD/Radio unit from 1989 to 2000 from all Chrysler products are interchangeable.I put my stock radio from my "00"DAK1 in my "89"
Shadow, plugs and mounts are exact fit.I also put
the Radio from "00"DAK2 in my "93"Learon droptop
again exact fit.So you shouldn't be a problem.
"01" and "02" units look to be different.

The only thing that you have to becareful about is if you get one from a car with 6 speakers it might not work in your 4 speaker truck I had a problem with 1 in my shadow

just make sure it isn't for a infinity system they won't work proporly with the regular systems because they have a separate amplifier built into each speaker.

BTW the radio that was removed from DAK2 was an INFINITY sys.and the Lebaron is a 4 spkr sys. it works fine no problems.Wife loves the Joystick for balance control on it (in Her Lebaron)

i buy one from gene and he own a 2001 dakota and i put it in my 1997 dakota and it was a perfect fit plus it was a stock one
