I've noticed that my 4 wheel drive won't engage. I also have a "jumping needles" issue on my instrument cluster.... I'm wondering if the 4x4 is governed by the same module that is causing the jumping. I don't have manual hubs, and there isn't any actuate button on the dash. It's a '99 5.2 v8. Any experience with this?
Thanks and Regards
Ray

On a 99 the transfer case is controlled manually, by the lever on the floor. If it won't engage it is either a problem with the linkage or in the transfer case itself. The only connection to the instrument cluster is a switch to illuminate the 4wd light.

Describe the jumping needles a bit more. A common problem is the speedometer jumping due to a bad speed sensor.
