Message: What shakes...the motor, or the whole truck? Could be a motor mount that the bonding (rubber) has separated. Have the hood open when you shut it off to see if there is excessive engine movement. With brakes applied, you can also give it some gas while in gear to see if one side of the motor lifts up (we're talking a good inch or three). Try this both, in drive and reverse. It's been a long time(1980?), but if memory serves me right the passenger side will lift in drive and the driver side will lift in reverse? Or vice-versa...I've slept since then.
Does the engine come to a quick (normal) stop, or does it have a kind of 'diesel engine' sound as it stops? Could be that the engine is out of time (streched or worn timing chain, out of adjustment distributor...or just cheap gas).
Hopefully these are some good starting points.
Good luck!
