Subject: Need suggestions on mud flaps IP: Logged
Message: Hello all.
I want to put mud flaps/splash guards on my 00 4X4. I have looked at several different ones on the web, but it is kind of hard to see what the fit will be like with the flares.
Anyone bought aftermarket ones that are pretty good and have a solid install? I have also looked at the Mopar ones, but they seem pretty overpriced.
Thanks in advance.

Message: I bought the Mopar flaps with the chromed rams' heads on the bottoms(unsure of part numbers), paid $13 for the pair at my dealer, and took me about an hour to put on. I'm now finding i need a pair for the front...i hear rocks hittin the rocker panels on a regular basis.
just my two-cents.

Message: Mine were $20 pair (canadian) and I got them all around. They've been on 2 years now and work great. I just wish that the chrome ram's heads didn't fade!

Message: Mopar Molded Mud Guards - Fits models with wheel flares like a glove. Best suited for the 4x4 models cuz they are longer than the 'flat' ones.
If you have a 2x4 model, I would not recommend this one cuz a driveway w/ a steep grade will cause the guard to rub against the ground.
Beware of debris that gets trapped in between the guard & wheel flare as they will damage the flare due to vibration/rubbing (from experience).
Mopar Flat Mud Guards - Fits models w/ or w/out flares & are much shorter in length. looks good on either 2x4 or 4x4 models.
Hope this helps everyone.

Message: You must have flared wheel wells? They were more expensive I think I recall. I don't have flares, so they are a little different in style, flat with no moulded shape to them.

Message: I have a 2001 Dakota Quad Cab with the fender flairs, I have the factory molded splash guards.
They fit real nice and for a mud flap they look sharp. They have an embosed rams head on them. I painted the embosed rams head RED and with the BRIGHT WHITE truck the black flaps with that little bit of red really sets it off.

Message: I had my dealer order front and rear w/flairs,and the front fit like a glove. The rears did NOT fit! There was a 1/2" gap along the bottom of the flair! We tried every combo,Daks and Durango, and nothing fit! He couldn't figure it out,I couldn't figure it out,the computer was saying it was the correct flap, and I was getting mad! The flaires were factory,no flap would fit!
Anyone else have that prob? I have a 2000,does anyone have the part no. for the rear flap?

Message: I just got the rear flaps for my 2000 4x4 w/ flares adn they fit perfectly.
(It was a tough call between those and the "BACK OFF" flaps with TAZ on them but I ended up going with the Mopars ;)
I'll check on the part # and get back to you.

Message: I had the mud flaps with the chrome ram on them installed at the dealers. With the oversize tire group they didn't use the screws in the flare and put the flaps a little lower and out just a little bit further. They where $28.00 for all four. Free install. They look nice and function well. Alot of guys remove the flare screws and reuse these to install the flaps, Thats what I would have done but the Dodge boys wanted to know if I wanted 2 more holes in my wheel wells or chipped paint?
