Subject: Not getting gas... IP: Logged
Message: My '94 2.5l has been having problems since 2009. It would just randomly die or if you rev it too hard cut out and then you hear the pump reprime itself. Just crank it back up again and she's running fine. It never bothered me because it is a cheap ride ( $300 with worn out rings) and I'm not far from work. Yesterday I put a new battery in it and tried to start it. Of course it died the first time. No big deal. Turn the key back on and no fuel pump... I checked all the fuses and relays and they are ok. It's a new pump and filter and I never let it run below 1/4 tank. Can't be burnt out after only 4 months. Yes it's the right size battery and the wiring harness looks untouched. No codes from the computer either. There must be an internal problem somewhere in the compute not letting the pump get power. Can anybody please help?

Message: Got it to start and run just fine, but only 1 time. Same problem again. At some point it blew the 5 amp "ignition off draw" fuse. Now I have a code 42 which is the "auto shutdown relay driver circuit" and 13 being the MAP sensor according to my manual. Relay itself is fine. Nobody knows what the "driver circuit" is. Checked the 5 amp fuse for the fuel pump relay and it is good. Don't see how the MAP sensor affects the fuel pump getting power. Also, my blinkers blink slower than the hazard lights now...??? As high as scrap is selling for I am tempted to crush it if this can't be fixed soon.

Message: Found 3 light grey wires spliced to a black one. Must have been checked before because it was wrapped in electrical tape instead of that funky cloth stuff Dodge used. Unwrapped it and it looks Ok, but went ahead and soldered it together to be safe. The wires go to the ign. system fuse and all the relays except for the Auto shutdown relay. Still no fuel pump...
The pump works, tested it with a friends dakota. Any suggestions?

Message: Well don't worry about it - I found another cheap ride and the truck is getting scrapped next Saturday. Went behind the dash and found burnt wires and cheap splices. Looks like the PO screwed up installing the stereo and I guess the person that later stole it finished it off...
