 Subject: Instrument cluster / gauge light sizes

Does anyone know what size the instrument panel (gauge lights) bulbs are to put into a 2000 Dakota? The hi/low headlight one is a 74 bulb. I went out and bought some 194 LED's to put into the dash but they never lit up. Then I switched the bulbs back in and now no lights either. I checked the fuse and its fine. I had the negative post off while taking the panel out. Most stores call for 158, 194, and 74 bulb(s) for the panel. Anyone experience this before or know where to start?
