 Subject: turn signal switch plug

i sold my column out of my 88 dakots no tilt no cuise. ht guy calls me back and said it wouldnt plug into his wiring harness. he does have cruise. i dont know if he has tilt or not. his is also a 88 shortbed. mine is a long bed. is there a difference or am i getting scammed.
