I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab. Had it about a year. When I open any door no dome lights. All dome lights work when you turn them on manually or with the dial at the headlight switch. Also the instrument panel lights are very dim but if you rotate the dial switch up out of the bottom detent the dome lights come on. The dash lights brighten but you can't run around all night with your dome lights on. Any suggetions.

can you open any of the other doors and get the light to come on? most old headlight switches have a rheosta that dims the panel lights. if the rheostat gets dirty or correded it wont work right. if your haqs a rheostat. that could be the problem with the panel lights. if the other doors turn on the dome light then the door switch on the drivers side is bad.

No lights come on when you open any of the doors. Also put new headlight switch with reostat dial in . No difference.
