Subject: 99 Dakota Speaker Install IP: Logged
Message: I have a 99 Dakota extended cab and want to replace the factory speakers. I bought Kicker coaxials for the rear and Kicker components for the front (separate tweeter and 6" speaker). The front speakers have me a little confused as the Kicker set came with a small crossover. My question is; Do I need the Kicker crossover, or have the frequencies already been split by the factory wiring? Is the full range of audio available on the wires that feed the 6" factory speaker so I could connect the Kicker crossover there? Also any tips on determining polarity of the speaker wires would be appreciated. I looked at the wires for the left front and both look green to me.. not sure which is positive. Thanks
