my check gauges light was on and the charge gauge was at zero. it would drain the battery . just to let people know that it was the altinator that was the problem. i had the altinator "bench" tested and it tested fine.put the altinator in the truck and tested it and it was not charging.hope this helps other people and thanks for a great web site

So the alternator bench tested ok, but it wouldn't charge in the truck? And installing a new one fixed the problem? Good information, thanks for sharing.
