Message: i have a new 1990 dodge dakota 3.9L auto 2wd. it has very little brakes. the antilock abotu the axle has been disconnected and the brake lines bypass it now. when yo ustep on the brakes they will stop the truck. but they go almost to the floor. pumping them wotn get you anything better.
i figure it has to be either air in the lines or a bad master cylinder.
what are you thoughts? is it the master or air in the lines. the truck has sat for about 1-2 years before i got it. does the antilock have anything to do with the low brake pedal? i dont think the problem is with shoe adjustment.

Message: First thing I would do is flush and bleed the entire brake system. The calipers could be stuck and not clamping the rotor like they should.
