Message: I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota, with a 4.7 V8. The truck has 148k on it. Recently, my truck has been idling when I come to a stop, and completely shuts down. The start is pretty rough, and the Truck runs rough when I get close to 45 mph. I have heard about a PCM upgrade, but being the holiday season, $450 is tough to come by. Is there any easy fixes for this? Please help!

Message: Two questions come to mind:
1) When was your last tune-up?
2) Have you checked for codes?

Message: Sounds like mine did when I started getting 'spark jump' across the plug wires. If they haven't been changed, or it's been a long time since they were changed, that could likely be your culprit. Does it seem to go away at the 45mph if you manually take it out of overdrive?
