You should be able to get invoice+3% tops AND 0% financing. The financing comes from Chrysler and 3% is plenty of profit for most dealers. Talk to Dave Smith at www.usaautosales.com if you want a good deal. They are the #1 Dodge truck sales dealer anywhere and will sell everything no-haggle for about $300 over invoice and whatever the factory is offering (like rebates or financing) they just pass on to the customer. If anything it would give you something to bargan with at your local dealer.

I just ordered my for $150 UNDER invoice, no haggle. You should be able to get even lower. But I wouldn't expect too much lower. The quote I got from cardirect was invoice. $300 is way too high for dakota.

Damn! $100 BELOW invoice!... I got screwed. I ordered my 2002 QC in mid Sept. and payed $500 ABOVE invoice. I didn't mind much since I got $1500 in rebates (which I thought was good for a 2002 right now). But that would be nice to have that extra 600 bones in my pocket! Damn...

Sorry - just noticed the typo ( it's $1000 rebate). I am ordering it for invoice.

I will also get my choice of either $1000.00 cash back OR 0% interest for 36 months.

SO, it sounds pretty good. Not sure I want to piss off the deal to try to get another $100-$150 off.

configuring a 4x2.

Sorry if I was unclear...this is a 4x4 SLT plus.

$100 over invoice is what I've been quoted for a '02 Quad 4X2 4.7 auto SLT "Plus" with everything except the leather, stereo and overhead computer.

One dealer said that they will beat ANY offer from any other dealer, so once I get a few more quotes I'll see if they are speaking out of their @$$ or not ;)

The $1,000 off is better than the financing unless you can afford the huge payments 36 months causes (even at 0%). Plus you can get a better rate at www.peoplefirst.com - 6.19% right now beats the 6.9% Dodge gives you for 48-60 months terms. This allows for an all cash deal.

BTW to get the options I want I have to order one... if I take one off the lot they seemed more intrested to deal.

I've found the same thing, I have to order to get what I really want. As long as you make the deal in October, Chrysler will price protect the cash and apr incentives.

I haven't decided whether to take the $1000 cash or the financing. Granted your payments would be high, but every dollar goes to principal, and you can be earning interest on your cash in the meantime.

Anyway, I've ordered it! Invoice price and no B.S. dealer handling fees. Very pleasant.

Now we'll see how long it takes to actually get it!

Quad cab / SLT-Plus 4X4
4.7 / auto
Leather
LSD
Power convenience group
Overhead power convenience
trailer tow
HD service
Sliding R window
INfinity speakers
Power drivers seat
fog lamps
Tire and handling group
Radio/compact disk w/ chg ctrl

$26,760 incl destination
+tax, etc

Sounds like the standard deal. I paid invoice for a 2002 QC SLT+, 4x4, 4.7L, auto, leather, infinity speakers, tow, Heavy duty service. I went with the 0% financing, and took the $500 Farm Bureau rebate.

Mine had been at the dealer for only a couple days, so he got his three percent from dealer holdback. If you ordering, he'll pocket all the holdback, so you could conceivably get it below invoice.

What color are you getting?

This is my first Dodge, but after 600 miles, I love it.

maybe try a LA zip code ? try 90075 maybe more dealers in lA ? Worth a try , good luck on your new truck , jj Dodge renews $500 member bonus on trucks, cars
Date: July 31, 2001

Farm Bureau members will continue to receive a $500 rebate on most Dodge vehicles for another year with the renewal of the California Farm Bureau Federation program with Dodge through next July. Eligible vehicles include most passenger-car models that were added earlier this year to the traditional $500 rebate on Dodge light trucks.

Members can apply for the rebate at Dodge dealers with a valid Farm Bureau membership card. New members qualify after 30 days of membership and there is no limit on the number of rebates members may obtain on purchases or leases.

"Farm Bureau member families and businesses have saved thousands of dollars with this valuable Dodge program," Bill Pauli, president of CFBF, said. "We're pleased that Dodge is helping keep our costs down during the economic crisis farmers and ranchers now face."

Dodge vehicles eligible for the $500 rebate are the Ram pickup (1500, 2500, 3500 models), Dakota pickup (except four-cylinder), Durango, Ram vans and passenger wagons, Caravan (excluding EX model), Stratus coupe and sedan, Intrepid and Neon.

Dodge also supports other Farm Bureau activities, including donation of a one-year lease on a new Dodge Ram 1500 that is raffled off to support the Fund to Protect the Family Farm (FARM PAC), courtesy of Dodge Trucks and California Dodge Dealers. They also provide a second one-year lease on a Dodge Dakota for the winner of the Young Farmers & Ranchers Discussion Meet.

I just got off the phone with a Dodge dealer here in FL that mentioned the Farm Bureau rebate.

He said that it cost $50 to become a member and that Dodge offers a $500 rebate to FB members who buy eligble vehicles (which includes the Dakota).

I found this web site http://www.fb.com/ but would like more info if anyone has it. Scroll down in http://www.fb.org/annual/showcase/ and you'll see that Dodge is listed as a partner with this organization.

Hopefully owning a cow and wearing overalls are not required ;)

The best part about the farm bureau is the rebate. They also do a lot of political work for landowners rights as well, like using water promised farmers to grow food rather then save a few suckers downstream.
