Message: I have a 2007 Dakota that I intend to keep a very long time and I live in northeast Ohio. Not only do they use salt up here, but they mix it in a solution called brine which makes it a syrupy mess that sticks to everything it touches - the average car wash can't get it all.
What is the real skinny on rustproofing? What really works?

Message: I'm now using 2-3 coats of Rustoleum Rust Reformer, after cleaning and degreasing the chassis. Then a couple of coats of primer, then rubberized undercoating.

Got a gun with a probe from KBS coatings(still waiting on delivery). next year i might just make some homemade waxoyl for added piece of mind. soon as i get some time and the gun then ill hopefully let you know how it goes.
