has anyone had to replace there coolant hose, you now the plastic an rubber thing.
the filler of fluid's.I ask is there anyway around having to pay $70 for a replacement,maybe a straight hose.

No wonder you're overwhelmed. Someone took you for a ride. Autozone shows the upper hose as 2 pieces. About 15 bucks each and you just buy a couple of clamps and reuse the plastic center section with the radiator cap.
$70.00, no way.
