Subject: Want a more tough look IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 black dakota quad cab and i want to give it more of a tough look on the outside. Its all stock, i dont have a ton of cash either so ill prob buy one thing at a time.
Its a v6 also so i dont wana put like an extreme lift on it or anything, but i really dont want to drop it. I just want it to have a more rugged look.
What would you guys suggest and links to the best places to buy it?
Its an slt and it has about 140 thousand miles on and still running good. My dad bought it new back in 2000 and i have been driving it for about 3 years now

Message: darevrin43,
Whether you go to an All Terrain or some type of Mud Tire, a more aggressive tire, even on factory wheels, will be one of the most noticable changes you could make. I would go to the largest diameter I could fit without rubbing.
Next: If you, or someone you know is mechanically inclined, a 2" body lift: works on 2 or 4wd; is relatively inexpensive; does not really alter the ride or performance; and is a safe way to gain a few inches in ride height. If it is 2wd I believe there are also inexpensive options for installing 2" lift blocks in the rear and macphereson strut extentions (google: Daystar) in the front.
Some type of auxilliary bar accross the front end. You could add a couple lights later.
Finish it off with either a soft roll up bed cover (think Extang) or a light bar of some kind. The light bar (with lights) will give the visual affect that the rig is taller than it actually is.
Remember, it's your rig...do what YOU think looks good. It is a never ending process. I have a `95 4x4 ext cab that I bought new (dating myself) and still add things to it from time to time.
Good luck with your mods!

darevrin43,
You can still look at Daystar. They sell 2.5" spring spacers for your front springs.
