I have a 2000 dakota with a 4.7L motor. I live in las vegas and it is pretty hot now 115. I was wondering what normal perating temp is for my truck. It has no mods to it and runs a 195 stat. I've been confused about how this cooling system works ever since I let the dealer power flush it and it doesn't seem to run the same temp since.I actually had it reflushed and found out that the dealer left the old stat in it. but it still doesn't seem right. after about 40 min of street driving the truck starts to run at 220 or so is this normal?

Mine runs about 220 too when its hot 95+. Will go back under 200 if I get on the highway. Has never overheated. I had my dealer look at it and they couldn't find anything wrong.
