Subject: 97 Dak 4x4 Good Investment? IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys, I value your opinions alot, and I need your input on this. I definitely have to get rid of my 90 Dak Sport V6 4x4. Just too many problems. Is a 97 Dak 4x4 short box w/V6 5spd a good investment? I drive half city and half highway. Want good mileage. What are you guys getting for mileage with these beasts? I also need passing power at 60mph. Is this possible with the magnum V6 in a Short Box 4x4? I'll probably settle for a Sunfire otherwise. I'm a poor University student. Need good mileage.
Thanks for any and all replies. Good job on the new site. Looks great.

Message: I love mine. Of course I have the V-8. I always have pleanty of power. I actually just sit in my sometimes, I actually think I'm in love with her, girlfriend doesn't quite understand. But girls never really understood true love.
I can get about 16 MPG with mine mostly all city, with a stick. Great for off-roading.
Mine is a short box as well, only difference I see is I have the 8 banger. Great truck. Looks great, runs excellent, incredibly reliable.

Message: I have the 97 V6. I havent seen very good gas mileage thhough. I only got around 13-14, maybe 15 before I put on the body lift and the 33"s. I have a real heavy foot though, so I run it pretty hard a lot. It does have some pulling power at 60, but not as good as the V8. Also that will depend on the gear it has. I think they have either a 3.55 or a 3.90. I'm not exactly sure on that. That will make a difference.

Message: Thanks to everyone who replied. I test drove it, it was a 97 Dak Sport 4x4 with Magnum V6 and 5spd. Had a lot more power than my 1990. Am considering buying it.
