 Subject: Climate Control Switch

I've recently noticed that it takes several minutes for the climate control unit to switch from the various vent settings. I've checked the vacuum going into the climate control unit, and it seems to work.
I did notice that there was some white grease in one of the hoses that goes into the climate control unit, so I cleaned that out. No avail.
Any suggestions? I am considering replacing the climate control unit, but want to see if others have had this experience.
