 Subject: 318 to 360 swap

i have a 97 dakota with a 318 and the the engine is beat i have a friend who has a 96 1500 with a 5.9 what do i have to ad or change to put the 5.9 into my 97 (both engines are magnums)

the 360 will bolt up to everything in your Dak. Just make sure you use the computer from the 360. Other than that, everything else is the same.

nice , what about getting a pcm from a durango with a 5.9 i havent heard any thing about durangos in any forum , im trying to cover all the bases before i do the drop in because im in ct, and we have emissions here and my 97 is obd2 thanks mike

i can get a pcm out of a 97 or 98 durango with a 5.9 will that pcm work in my dakota?

k heres what i have found out i can use a pcm from a same year durango and i have to use the flex and convertor from the 5.9 if any one dissagrees let me know or if you did a swap like this inform of any thing i have missed it would be great to know
