Message: I don't know if your vintage is the same, but I just solved a years-old leak in my '92, same place. It turned out to be the door pin switch, water that runs outside the door gasket was channeling down the door jamb and in past the switch (mounted at the hinge), behind the kickpad and out into the carpet. I had 1-2 inches of water after some storms. Replaced the switch and RTV'd around it, leak gone.

Message: you can try the baby powder trick. pull out the carpet (you have to anyways to have any real hope of drying it all out) and sprinkle baby powder around in the suspected area. close the door and hit the truck with the hose. The water will make little trails through the powder,, making it easy to trace back to the source. :D
