Subject: 01 Dakota Brake Problem IP: Logged
Message: I have an 01 Dakota Quad Cab with 4.7L. My front Calipers were locking up on both sides. I changed both of them. Now they no longer lock up, but the do get very tight and I can feel them grabing while driving at all speeds. I ran a large amount of brake fluid thru the front barke lines on both sides to ensure there was no trash in the lines. Can anyone give me any help on this. I do not have a clue where to start to check from here. Oh yes almost forgot, I did install new rotors and pads when I replaced the calipers. Thanks for any help you can give

Message: I have a 04 and I also had issues with brake drag. It was one of the calipers. You need to check the Caliper pins and make sure they are not binding. They should move in and out freely. They are what you bolt caliper to. Pull them out and clean and lube them with brake grease.
