Subject: old rims on newer truck IP: Logged
Message: i have an 01 sport 6cyl with aftermarket 15: on 31" all terrains, im looking to get another set of smaller tires for in-town to save gas. i found a set of 15x7's from a 1995 dakota 6cly.
i know the dakotas never really changed much in the 90's - early 2000's, would this set still fit my 01???
thanks!

Message: I tried a set of 1997 alloy wheels on my 1996 and they were too wide. But if you are going the other way you should be alright. Just the bolt pattern 5 or 6 is all you worry about and the offset. How far out the wheel sits when mounted. The offset on the wheels I tired was too far in so they said use a spacer but the wheel would hit the fender if I hit a good bump with the wheels turned so I went with the more narrow stock steel wheels. Just try one wheel no tire and see where it sits. You'll know right away if they will workAlso a good tire shop will be able to tell you if they'll fit your truck or not. Good luck Casey
