Subject: Tire Size IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4wd. I want to get bigger tires, right now I have the OEM 245/70-16. What is the biggest tire I can get for the OEM rims or do I have have to buy new rims for bigger tires? Also I dont plan on lifting it so I am looking for the biggest tire with out lifting and/or using OEM rims. Thanks

Message: 265/70-16 (31 x 10.5) should fit easy without issue.
For 265/75-16 (32 x 10.5) expext that you will require some small suspension height adjustment in the front to minimize frame rub.

Message: My 1993 only came with 6" rims. I didn't dare put anything larger than 235 70 15's on them for fear that they would fall off. I ended up getting 8" rims and using 275 60 15's

Message: i went with 265/70/16 on my last Dakota...they looked good. Get some beefy A/T's, they make the tire look a bit bigger. I have Firestone Destination A/T's on my current Dakota. The good thing is (generally A/T's are a bit louder and the drive is a bit different than regular radials) these tires are quite and feel like an H/T (highway terrain)

Message: you could easily fit 267/75/16 without adjustment at
all i have a 2wd and i have 265/70/16 without
rubbing heck u crank up the torsion bars and i
believe you can run a 33 if i recall
correctly...besides 265/70 is a stock option size so
at least go with the 265/75/16 at smallest
and i agree get you some destination AT chep and a
great tire on the highway and mud if need be.
