Subject: No Heat!!!! IP: Logged
Message: Ok guys hopefully you can help me out here. I would post separate but im not a member. Anyhow i have a 2001 dodge Dakota with a 2.5L. The heater doesn't blow hot air at all. It used to blow warmish when i bought it about 2 yrs ago. Now it blows damn near cold. I would think it's the heater core however. Here's the catch when it did blow warm air it only blew out of 2 of 4 vents. I would also think it's the thermostat but engine run temp is normal. Any suggestions? I heard it could be acutater but i don't kno where it is, or what it does.... Please help!!! it's cold outside!!!

Message: Baby Boy, it could be the heater core needs to be flushed out. The way to do that would be to disconnect both the heater hoses from the heater core and use a water hose to flush water both ways until you get clean water coming out either end, then reconnect the hoses, and see what happens. Thats all I can think of for now that may be the problem.
Good Luck

Message: Though the problem MIGHT be a clogged heater core, Blowing through only 2 of 4 vents would not be caused by the core.
