Well, here at about 135k miles, my '00 QC blew the rear wheel brake cylinder on the drivers side. Only question I have is:

Are there any tricks or anything special to do with the ABS? Or bleed as usual at each wheel?

CRUD!! Just checked an '01 FSM and it says I will need a DRB scan tool to cycle the ABS pump so I can bleed it. Anyone around me that's got a DRB and has nothing to do tomorrow? :)

Hell, I may just try to do without one. Wish me luck.

You have rear drums (wheel cylinder you mentioned) and abs............

They dont have abs on drum brakes

They DO have RWABS on rear drums on my '00 QC. That's a fact Jack. If your smart enough, you'll figure out how it works. And believe me, it's not the best ABS system either.

Daddio, you got nothing to loose, bleed it without the DRB scan tool and see what happens. Worst case scenario your brakes dont work and you go skidding into a croc infested swamp and miss out on the Saints winning the super bowl....thats not so bad is it?

It's already done and they work better than ever. Didn't need any stinking DRB scan tool either. Just good ole Cajun perseverance.

Bucket my freind, I told you before it's ALLIGATORS not CROCS. And I wouldn't miss the SAINTS playing in the Superbowl if I was on my death bed!

I was just trying to educate Jack a little since it seems he has a lot to learn.

You found out already, Daddio, but the procedure for bleeding with rear-only ABS and drums (yes, they made this combo) is to open all 4 bleeder screws, plus the bleeder screw on the rear ABS module; let fluid seep for a minute; close up the 4 wheels' screws and bleed the ABS module; then bleed furthest to nearest cylinder/caliper. I re-did my entire hydraulic system last year due to rusted, ruptured rigid lines, and the FSM calls out the above procedure. Brakes are rock-solid now.
