Subject: steering wheel allignment IP: Logged
Message: I just did ball joints and tie rods on my 99 4x4 dak and got an allignment but now the steering wheel is off about an eith of a turn when going straight. I read the fix for it on here a while ago but can't seem to find it again, any help would be appreciated.

Message: Sounds like the alignment shop did not have the steering wheel 'centered' when they performed the alignment. 'Centering' the wheel is the 1st step when performing an alignment. My guess is your rig tracs true (can you let go of the wheel and it doesn't drift?), it's just that the wheel is not level, right? They need to do it over again.
You can 'try' adjusting it yourself by shortening the tie-rod on one side while equally lengthening the one on the other, but I think I would just go back.
Good luck.

Message: I concur with other bill. They(the alignment shop) needs to do the job correctly. Take it back.
