 Subject: part number help emissions

I need replacement hoses of the 2 "U" shaped hoses that come out of the charcoal canister. I found online that the part number is 0516649AA but the dealer says I am missing a number. The guy said it is only a 11$ kit and includes both "U"'s

The dealer says you're missing a number?
The dealer parts dept should be able to tell you the correct numbers. If not, get yourself to another dealership, and don't look back.

Something is wrong with that number if your Dakota is 2000, 2001 or 2002. I searched those databases, and no part numbers end with 649AA. Eleven end with 49AA, but none are emissions related.
Only two entries contain 0516, and they're both for the transfer case.

that stinks, its a 2002 4wd. I guess I need a photo of the exploded emissions so that I can pick the correct 2 parts that I need. Do any of you know the parts that I am talking about?

After that they have free online repair manuals
with pictures. I don't know if they will have what you need but it can't hurt and won't cost you a single cent.

OK, Matt.
I'm looking at the parts manual for your vehicle, and the only charcoal canister I can find is inside the frame rail, just forward of the gas tank.
Is that the canister, or is it some other?

Found it.05166499aa The reason nobody could find it in the parts list is because you have to click on #4 in the emissions picture which are the complete units. I argued with the guy at the dealership that they only sell the 2 U shaped hoses because it is a common failure. he then clicked on a "tech tip" for that part and it says baisically that dodge added the part to the list at a differant date so I guess it just doesnt show up anywhere. Got my part only 6.41 for both tubes. Thanks guys
